Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary is a state accredited private institution providing applied higher education in theology. Its purpose is to provide Christians with theological education to help them effectively use their gifts and knowledge in church work and find adequate solutions to the needs of contemporary church and society.
The seminar was founded in 1994. Its graduates are working as pastors, chaplains, teachers of religious education at general education schools and as professionals in various Christian ministries (missionary work, children’s and youth work, diaconal service, pastoral care, counselling, etc).
There are students from different denominations and nations studying in Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary. It is possible to study either in Estonian, Russian or English language, and using either modular or distance learning. As an alternative to the three-year study program of theology and mission, there is a one-year basic course of practical theology. Its purpose is to provide basic knowledge for understanding theology and studying Bible, and skills in applying the gained knowledge in one’s own church and society.
